Using Fluid to Run Stacks

Fluid is a free Mac OS X application that allows you to create Site Specific Browsers (SSBs) so you can run web apps as a separate Cocoa desktop application.

Running Stacks as an SSB has many advantages and we think it excels in this setting. Getting setup is simple.

  1. Download Fluid from their website.
  2. Download the Stacks icon set.
  3. Open Fluid.
  4. Enter the URL of your Stacks account (e.g. http://imulus.usestacks.com/)
  5. Enter a name for your application (we suggest Stacks, of course).
  6. Select "Other" for the icon and browse to where you downloaded stacks.icns
  7. Press the Create button.
  8. Launch Stacks and enjoy.
