Yammer-like Casual Status Updates

Right now, I need to combine Stacks with Yammer to fully collaborate with my team. I don't see any reason why a very bare-bones Twitter/Yammer status updates tab can't be implemented. Sometimes, you might need to inform the team something without manually updating the status of a task. ...Even something as little as "Running late to work."
There's no need to switch between two services if I don't have
to. :)

To clarify, I don't literally mean Yammer or Twitter...but something similar to that.

Hello Jeffery,
We have had talks about the possibility of adding the ability to send alerts to a user, or team, or all your Stacks users. Right now this is only in a discussion phase and how best to implement it. However, we are hoping to release an API in the future to allow developers to access all the Stacks functionality so an integration with other application can be possible.
