Calendar View

As I'm adding more tasks and trying to plan out when I want to have them done, I find myself really wishing for a calendar view. I do like the stacked view at the top of the page for an at-a-glance look at the current workload. I like the list view of active tasks, which lets me see the order. However, when I'm determining how to schedule tasks, it would be much easier if I had a calendar view.

I believe Bruce has mocked up this functionality to test the idea. He's out on vacation but when he returns we'll resume this discussion. Thanks for the feedback!

Unfortunately, we have been slammed with client work so the release of the feature has been pushed out. We hope to have this functionality included in our next major update in Q4.

Thanks for the update. However, I am a bit concerned by it... I feel
that your comment puts the users of your software as 2nd class
citizens... Is the software a supported product, and therefore
something worth paying for, or are we best to go for an open source
solutions that we can apply hacks when required? To suggest you have
have to focus on better paid work suggest to me that "stacks" is not
considered viable software solution in the market, and perhaps I
should look elsewhere. Is this the case?

Hello Tim
That certainly isn't the case. We've invested ALOT of time into Stacks over the last 2 years, we were in beta mode from Oct '09 till Feb '10 making sure the features work. In Feb - Mar we worked on setting up the payment processing system. In April we started to redesign the ADD TASK menu to make room for some new features. This is the first big change we're going to roll out and it is in queue right now.
The calendar request came in November but we we're more focused on the core functionality at that time; however the calendar option is a necessary feature. I for one could have used this multiple times in the last few weeks alone.
Stacks is our baby, we've used it internally for 3 years and we still use it everyday. We'll continue to improve it and take user feedback to help guide it's direction; however I can't commit to public timelines on the release of new features.
All I can say is stay tuned, you won't be disappointed.
