I would need private tasks that only I can see.

Hello Fernando
This is one of the features we'll likely never add because it destroys the concept of Stacks and team transparency. The whole concept behind Stacks is that everyone can see what everyone else is working on.
I'm not saying never, but it's highly unlikely.
Good feedback nonetheless.

It makes it hard for a CEO/Executive to use this app for company stuff that may need to be private. For instance:
- Follow-up with lawyer about XXXXXXX (firing Bill, term sheet with company y, etc.)
- Send so-and-so "sorry your mom died" card
- Send wife flowers
- Send girlfriend flowers
- Shred those documents
So that is why I was curious about the intended audience/use for Stacks.

I hear you. For those sorts of non-group tasks I use Things or HitList.

I agree that it would be helpful to have private tasks as well. I want to be able to assign tasks to subordinates and track completion but I don't want subordinates to be able to see everything that I might use the application for. Telling us to "go use another app" doesn't feel like the right answer, since I'd like one place to go for all of the things I need to track and do collectively.

I'll bring this back up for discussion with our team and respond to you as soon as we have a verdict.

I think the idea of having one app to do teamwork and one to do personal work makes sense. Part of the problem that happens with a lot of apps is that they try to do too much. I'm open to hearing a clean and elegant way to do it, but my feeling multiple apps is a part of life, and as long as each of them is easy to use and can fit into a workflow I have no qualms jumping between them.

That is how I'm using it currently. I use Stacks for shared tasks and assignments and Things for personal stuff & follow-up.
I personally thing Stacks needs this in the future, but not for a while. There are many other items I'd prioritize over this.

This is a great app, but I would like to keep projects isolated to the users actually having tasks within the project. The reason is that my users are not actually employees of the company. They are reps and they would have nothing to do with projects outside of their territory and due to the fact that it is critical to NOT make our entire customer base known to non-employees, this app wont work for us.
I understand your philosophy, but this philosophy wont work for my company.
Just letting you know why we likely will choose not to use this product even though it is a very powerful tool. Let me know if you do choose give the option to your customers to isolate projects to certain individuals.

Thanks for the info Craig. We keep talking about ways to make this work without breaking our core philosophy about Stacks.
It's tricky because private tasks are hard to gauge from a time analyzation perspective, and the whole point of Stacks is to know how busy people are so you can decide who delegate tasks to in order to get them completed.
