Control Panel moniker is misleading

I thought that Control Panel would let me change application settings, not update my data (Clients/Projects/Users). Might want words that are more indicative of the notion of managing data. Maybe combine account setting and control panel into this new notion and have Account Settings, manage clients, manage users, etc. so that it is more control-panel like.

I was also confused by the "Control Panel" title -- I initially thought it was for technical settings, not project/user management.

What if we change "account settings" to "my account" and "control panel" to "settings"?

Settings, in my opinion, sounds less helpful than control panel. Control Panel at least is a central location for a lot of settings and options, settings sounds very technical.

The question is if people get used to this and feel okay with it pretty quickly, or if it's really confusing for people. Sometimes you have to learn certain things about an app and once that happens it's not as big of a deal.

I'd like to hear more feedback from people before we jump on a name change.

I think my account or my settings would be good for "Account Settings"

For Control Panel, I think that you need something more like "Company Settings." Whatever it is, it needs to convey a notion that it is particular to company-wide settings.

There we go, that's a great idea.

"Company Settings" and "My Account" seem to make a lot of sense.

Bruce, I agree that a user sometimes has to learn the tool and get use to it after a few. What if we change "Control Panel" to "User Settings"? I find that "User Settings" is more relevant.
