User re-assigning a task...
I am in charge and a member of a team of 4 people. I have setup and assigned task(s) to each member of my team as I see fit. However the first time I did this, one of my team found that could simply re-assign their task to a different member of the team.
I can understand the reason for this to be available and not available to user roles. So I think it would be good to add a setting to allow re-assignment or not for a user role. As without it, I see hardly any point in assigning it to a particular person in the first place, based on their workload which I gain from the resource chart?

Hey John,
This is correct, users can reassign tasks to anyone they choose, including reassigning it back to you. It seems a bit weird at first but let me give you our thinking.
Stacks is based on a high level of trust. In essence, the team knows best and the less clutter and permissions in the way the better. We don't want to limit users ability to get things done. To compliment this each task is tracked and has history so managers and other users can see who changed and completed what. This maintains responsibility without the red-tape.
IE: If a user needs some small details clarified before they can finish their the task it should be reassigned to someone with that information and then reassigned back once the task has been updated.
In our experience, this workflow empowers users and doesn't let tasks get stuck waiting for some higher level user to fix it. The workload chart should simply be a reflection of whatever a user is currently working on, rather or not the task was assigned by you or by someone else (including themselves).
We know some businesses can't adhere to this model, and in certain cases it makes sense why businesses need permissions or restrictions. We greatly appreciate your time in providing feedback. Hopefully you think Stacks can still be useful for your team, if not, we wish you all the best in finding the ideal management tool.
Cheers,
Bruce Clark
